What are the weights of the frames?
Since all frames are customized, the diameters of the tubes , wall thicknesses and design details on the frames affect the weight. To give an average figure for a 52 gauge frame;
Steel – 1500-2000 gr
Titanium – 1300-1800 gr
Which material should I choose, Titanium or Steel?
Titanium and steel are materials that allow us to make bicycles with similar characteristics. We can choose the material we will use according to your expectations from the bicycle.
Titanium has roughly half the strength and weight of steel in terms of mechanical properties. For this reason, we use larger diameter tubes in titanium and this makes the bikes a bit more rigid than steel. However, it will still give you a quiet but nice and lively ride.
Titanium’s excellent corrosion resistance allows it to be used unpainted, a factor that affects the final weight. In addition, the fact that it is unpainted and corrosion-free makes it much easier to maintain the bike . It is also more resistant to pinpoint impacts than steel thanks to thicker tubes. (dimple).
Steel frames are now lighter and more rigid thanks to the technological advances made in recent years. Tubes are manufacturing with different butt lenghts and cross sections , this allows us to adjust the riding characteristic of the bicycle as we want (comfort or performance oriented). Less material cost and easier production methods make steel frames more affordable than titanium.
What are the waiting times for custom frames?
Although it varies, it is usually between 6 to 12 months.
Do you only make road bikes?
I also produce mtb, tour, tandem, city, minivelo and also balance bikes for little ones.
It is very difficult for me to come to the workshop and get measured, how can I order for custom size?
If you already have a bike-fit data that you are satisfied with, we can use it. The second option is if you have a bike that you are satisfied with your position, you can take the measurements using the form I will send. If you don’t have a bike,you can measure your body using the form I will send. Using these measurements, the most suitable geometry can be designed for you.
How are the paint, coloring and personalization works?
You need to guide me to the colors and patterns you want, an object you like, an architectural detail or the colors of a bird can be used in the design process. We pool what you like and create the design together. The finished images of the bicycle are prepared digitally and shared with you and we decide on the final design together.
Can I order a complete bicycle?
Of course, you can order a complete bicycle as well as a frame set. According to the equipment levels you are considering, I prepare price tables with different equipment and present them to you. You choose the one that suits your budget and we start the ordering process.
Can the bicycle be build in the workshop if I supply the equipment?
Of course, if you bring the equipment, we can make your bike ready for an extra building fee.
Can I print my name or something else on the frame as the main logo instead of Soulrider?
Unfortunately not, but you can of course have any graphic or text you want written elsewhere on the frame. Unless your name is Eddy, Mario or Greg, don’t even think about it 🙂
